Join National Express and start your journey towards a rewarding career as a fully qualified Coach Driver. If you hold a valid UK manual car licence, we’ll provide all the training you need to gain your PCV licence and drive to the highest professional standard.
Our current pay rates
- Paid Training: £12.60/hour
- Weekday pay: £14.60/hour
- Weekend pay: £15.64/hour
- Overtime pay: £18.25/hour
- Guaranteed 43 hours a week
- Paid from Book on to Book off (No unpaid breaks)
Location
Aston Depot, Birmingham. However flexibility required for occasional starts from Walsall or Wolverhampton.
Operation Hours
We operate 7 days a week, 3am to 2am. Although there would be a rare expectation to stop out overnight.
Schedule
Any 5 days from 7 including a variety of early, day, late, and late nights.

- Driving on the National Express network
- Providing transport for day trips, national and international tours, sports events, corporate shuttles, school trips, and private hire
- Delivering safe, comfortable, and reliable journeys for our passengers
What you’ll need…
- A full UK car licence held for 12 months minimum (Category B)
- A passion for delivering excellent customer service
- Minimum age: 21
Training with us
Our Driver Training Academy will guide you through every stage – from theory to practical tests – with expert tuition from experienced National Express PCV instructors.
