National Express are recruiting an experienced Network Officer to join our team, based at our Head Office in Digbeth, Birmingham. The successful candidate will support the Area Network Manager and Network team with all aspects of the departmental function.
What you\’ll do:
Prepare compliant EBSR files for local service registration with the Traffic Commissioner and local transport authorities, including TfWM
Provide TXC and other files for internal and external use connected with service control, RTI systems and customer information, including BODS data
Supply data for destination screens, liaising with operations and engineering departments to ensure buses are legally compliant with destination display requirements
Prepare customer and staff information on times, routes and service changes in both analogue and digital format. Liaising with other company departments to ensure information is correctly displayed
Supply and fit roadside timetable and service change information at stops and shelters on the network
Meet and interview customers to supply information on changes and conduct market research
Investigate (including physical site visits) delays and problems on the network, conduct appropriate bus tests. Advise other team members on issues and recommended changes
Comply with deadlines for service registrations and supply of BODS data.
Prepare necessary electronic files, including TXC and EBSR files, for bus registrations, BODS data and other digital requirements
Liaise with local highway authority staff on any highway issues
Analyse data using QData, CitySwift, Omnibus and other systems to assist network development and changes to timetables and/or bus schedules
Supply in a timely fashion all associated paperwork and digital information to operations, engineering and finance to enable buses to effectively operate
Compile robust bus service timetables to ensure optimal customer outputs
What you\’ll need:
Specialist experience in bus operation
Strong local knowledge of garage bus services and understanding of wider bus network
Qualified by experience and demonstrated knowledge
Self-motivated, intellectually curious and able to work on own initiative
Strong analytical skills and numerate
Well organised, responsive and able to work with multiple priorities
Proficient user of scheduling and other required systems
Ability to provide manual solutions in event of a systems failure
