About The Role
This role is responsible for leading on high‑profile and complex code governance processes. The team underpins and manages the process of code change, working alongside internal and external stakeholders across industry. We seek individuals with project management, regulation, policy, and code change experience to help progress change across the industry. The Code Governance Team supports and enables the business to operate within our regulatory licensed activities, providing expert support to maximise benefits for end consumers and Great Britain.
Key Accountabilities
- Act as the expert on industry code governance processes and electricity code administration, leading on behalf of NESO
- Project‑manage industry code changes through the governance process
- Oversee the day‑to‑day activities of the team undertaking code governance and administration
- Act as an industry leader in communication and engagement strategies to set best practice for code administration, enabling all network users to understand and contribute to code modifications
- Fulfil the Chair role for internal and external working groups (e.g. Code Panels/Workgroups)
- Provide expert advice on industry codes and governance, coaching and mentoring other team members
- Identify and implement improvements in both internal and external code processes to deliver the most valuable service for stakeholders
- Manage the Ofgem relationship for governance issues
- Manage NESO’s input to the Code Administration Code of Practice meetings (CACoP)
- Develop expertise in key areas to better understand code modifications under development and assist with drafting proposals in accordance with CACoP Principles
- Implement and drive initiatives to increase customer satisfaction across code governance
- Drive process improvements to create efficiencies within the team

- Exhibits excellent organisational and time‑management skills
- Has excellent customer and stakeholder‑management skills, identifying key stakeholders and developing effective account plans
- Has project‑management skills, capable of managing multiple activities and issues to meet time constraints
- Has excellent communication skills, including the ability to produce and deliver accurate written reports and presentation material
- Has experience coaching and mentoring staff

What You’ll Get
A competitive salary of £62,000 – £67,000 per annum, dependent on experience and capability. In addition:
- Bonus based on company performance
- 26 days annual leave as standard
