Together with industry, we are creating a cleaner, more sustainable energy future. National Energy System Operator (NESO) are now looking for a Revenue Analyst. Reporting to the Revenue Accountant, the Revenue Analyst delivers high-quality revenue accounting, forecasting and reporting activities in an accurate and timely manner to support decision-making, and provides specialist revenue accounting input and query resolution to business stakeholders. This role is based in Warwick, and we continue to offer hybrid working from office and home. We are open to full time and part time applicants, as well as flexible working arrangements.
Key Accountabilities
- Supporting the Revenue Accountant with the revenue financials for NESO (actuals, budgets and forecasts, regulatory returns) and any related reporting, inclusive of external audit process.
- Supporting the month end process for revenue, checking the appropriateness of all inputs and outputs, and ensuring the completeness, consistency and accuracy of all data. Ensuringadjustments such as revenue timing are appropriately accounted for and understood.
- Supporting the Revenue Accountant with the review of the revenue-related balance sheet position. Support the overall reconciliation of the revenue-related balance sheet control accounts on a regular basis and ensure that the balance sheet and any reconciling items are fully understood and effectively remediated as appropriate.
- Preparing financial reports for revenue and present insightful commentary to adequately explain any key variances. Support with revenue finance queries across Finance and the business.
- Ensuring that all controls for the function are properly conducted and any deviations are escalated as appropriate and remedied accordingly.
- Acting as a revenue subject matter expert and support ad-hoc project work including understanding any impacts on revenue from regulatory changes to the Licences or Codes.
- Building knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements.
About You

- Experience in management accounting/reporting (including planning, forecasting, and budgeting).
- Studying towards a professional accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA, or ACA).
- Attention to detail and willingness to research the NESO licences and codes where appropriate to understand impacts on revenue.
- Strong understanding of governance, risk, and internal control frameworks.
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience in a regulated business would be preferred.
