About the Role
The Incident Response Team is a key part of the Security function within the National Energy System Operator (NESO).
The Senior Incident Response Analyst will drive the team’s response to security incidents, following industry best‑practice incident management frameworks.
The role can be based in Wokingham or Warwick and offers hybrid working.
This position requires National Security Vetting (NSV) clearance (SC).
Applicants must have the right to work in the UK by the start of employment; visa sponsorship may not be available.
- Key Accountabilities
- Independently handle medium to low priority incidents, ensuring responses are proportionate and appropriate.
- Support senior colleagues in high priority incident response.
- Produce clear incident summaries promptly and tailor communication for varied audiences.
- Provide structured guidance to junior analysts on low priority incidents.
- Maintain and improve incident response plans, processes, and supporting documentation.
- Coach junior colleagues in professional development.
- Build productive relationships across business departments and resolver groups.
Qualifications & Experience
- Strong demonstrable experience or degree‑level qualification in Incident Response or related disciplines.
- Proven analytical skills and ability to solve complex problems independently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience adapting these for different audiences.
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship‑building skills.
- Prior experience in a technical cyber discipline preferred.
- Familiarity with best‑practice IR frameworks preferred.
