The Engineering Compliance Team plays a key role in the NESO’s Network Operability department, responsible for ensuring that new and existing generators, wishing to connect to the Electricity Transmission system, meet the requirements of the grid code and associated connection agreements.

As a Power Systems Engineer - Compliance, you will provide expert guidance to power generating companies in all areas of Power Systems Engineering Compliance and will review and assess performance and test data submissions throughout all phases of new infrastructure projects, to ensure that grid code compliance requirements are met. This role is based in Warwick or Wokingham and we continue to offer hybrid working from office and home. We are open to full time and part time applicants, as well as flexible working arrangements.

Key Accountabilities
  • Liaison with our key customers – power generator owners and manufacturers throughout the compliance process, providing expert guidance on all aspects of grid code compliance.
  • Assess technical data submissions, plant simulation studies and the results from plant commissioning activities, to ensure they are compliant.
  • Investigate significant faults and events leading to loss of supply.
  • Develop and validate network models, comparing the results of commissioning tests with the associated control system models.
  • Occasional site visits – to witness compliance testing activities.
  • Support the ongoing development and maintenance of compliance guidance documents and internal procedures.
