National Energy System Operator (NESO) require an Operational Assurance Manager to drive enhanced compliance, resilience and security within the system. The Operational Assurance Manager is responsible for providing a first line assurance function by identifying that operational processes and standards are being adhered to and systems (capabilities) continue to be compliant with relevant controls and regulations. This role will play a vital part in promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement within the first line of defence.
Working in a small team you will take operational delivery managers on a journey of behavioural change, driving the adoption of records maintenance as a routine and maintaining a security and audit demand profile to support compliance, technology risk, security assurance and governance.
Essential skills for this position include strong analytical ability, excellent communication, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Experience in operational risk, compliance, or assurance roles is highly desirable, as is familiarity with regulatory standards relevant to the sector.
This role can be based from Wokingham, Warwick or Glasgow, and we continue to offer hybrid working from office and home. We are open to full time and part time applicants, as well as flexible working arrangements.
This role is designated as requiring a National Security Vetting (NSV) clearance. The level of clearance associated with the role is Security Check (SC). You will usually need to have been a resident in the UK for the last five years to apply for an SC clearance. We would invite any applicants who do not currently meet this residency requirement to still express an interest in the role.
Key Accountabilities- Strengthen DD&T’s overall operational resilience
- Enable and demonstrate first line assurance across DD&T operations
- Facilitate and drive operations compliance with regulatory standards, principles and controls e.g. cyber assessment framework
- Ensure adherence to NESO standards
- Ensure operational processes exist and are being followed
- Promote and embed a maturity uplift ensuring continual improvement and modernisation applies to mindset as well as paper-based processes
- Measure and report compliance levels

What You'll GetA competitive salary of £67,000 - £74,000 dependent on experience and capability. As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus of up to 15% of your salary for stretch performance, 28 days annual leave as standard, and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
