NESO is at the heart of the transformation to a fully decarbonised energy system by 2030, and Innovation is critical to helping us meet the challenges of transitioning to a zero-carbon future. We work with innovation partners to solve problems arising from the energy system transition and to maximise benefits for the GB System and the end consumer. We co-create and deliver innovation projects with academic and industry partners across sectors. These will help us to operate the electricity transmission system more effectively in the future.
As the NIA Portfolio Lead, you will:
- Play a key role in helping the Innovation team manage, report and communicate the performance of NESO’s NIA portfolio, by developing clear reporting, maintaining dashboards and distilling complex project, risk and benefits, and financial information into accessible insight that supports decision making.
- Work collaboratively across NESO and the Innovation team to help ensure innovation activity is visible, aligned and delivered effectively.
This role can be based from Wokingham or Warwick, and we continue to offer hybrid working from office and home. This is a full time position and we are open to flexible working arrangements.
Key Accountabilities
- Lead portfolio reporting for NESO’s NIA portfolio of over 50 live projects, providing clear visibility of delivery progress, risks, benefits, budgets and key decisions.
- Lead business reporting for the Innovation portfolio for senior stakeholders across the organisation, such as regular NIA spend updates and delivery progress updates for senior stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain reports, dashboards and tools that translate complex portfolio and financial information into accessible insight for senior leaders and wider stakeholders.
- Support Innovation PMO with financial reporting for the innovation portfolio, including forecasting for Big Ideas and tracking NIA spend.
- Support the Innovation Portfolio Manager with portfolio strategy, prioritisation and alignment between projects by drawing together evidence, trends and insights from across the portfolio.
- Collaborate with teams across Innovation and wider NESO to provide timely and accurate portfolio reporting and insights.
