The role

We are looking for a Policy Officer to draw upon the experiences of deaf children and their families to influence decision-makers through impactful reports and briefings.

What you\’ll do

– Develop evidence-based policy briefings, blogs and articles that set out our insight and analysis on key issues
Draft responses to policy consultations
– Draw on both quantitative and qualitative data on the experiences of families and professionals
– Mapping and building relationships with key policy experts and thinkers to gather insights
– Support our policy and influencing leads in generating and appraising policy options

What you\’ll need

– Experience of working in a policy environment, developing or influencing government policy at a national level
– Excellent writing skills with ability to summarise complex and detailed information
– Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities
– Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to represent the organisation in public
– Strong digital skills and a sound understanding of agile values & principles
– A criminal record check / DBS disclosure (if offered the position)
