We are exploring how AI can help us work smarter and deliver even better support to deaf children, young people and their families. Over the past year, we have seen promising results and learned a lot, and now we are ready to take the next step.
The National Deaf Children's Society is the leading charity for deaf children. We give expert support on childhood deafness, raise awareness and campaign for deaf children's rights, so they have the same opportunities as everyone else.
We are looking for an AI Lead to help us do just that. In this new role, you will guide the exploration, design, development and adoption of AI-powered products and emerging technologies that support our organisational strategy. You will be a thought leader for AI across NDCS, sharing knowledge, building confidence, and helping teams and stakeholders make the most of what AI can offer.
Working closely with our CIO, you will identify opportunities where AI can enable delivery of our strategic objectives across service delivery, campaigns, fundraising, research and operational efficiency.
What you’ll do:
- Develop and execute the organisation’s overall AI strategy, vision, and roadmap.
- Build strong relationships with senior business and technical stakeholders, acting as a key liaison for all AI-related matters.
- Work with cross-functional teams and 3rd party suppliers to scope and deliver strategic AI projects that support NDCS’s mission.
- Drive innovation by staying current with emerging AI technologies, evaluating new applications, and identifying strategic AI opportunities for the charity to lead, partner or adopt.
- Align AI initiatives with broader business objectives and long-term goals.
Required profile:
- Extensive experience in AI, Data Strategy & Technology Leadership.
- A strong understanding of data governance, analytics & machine learning.
- Proven track record of aligning data initiatives with organisational goals.
- Strong communication skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong digital skills and a sound understanding of agile values & principles.
- A criminal record check / DBS disclosure (if offered the position).
