Overview

To note for candidates selecting London as a preference - For roles based in London, your contractual place of work will be Stratford. While the Stratford site is expected to become operational from November 2025 - March 2026, you will be required to carry out your contractual duties from Vauxhall or another reasonable location on a temporary basis during the interim period. Please note that, as Stratford will be your contractual place of work, any subsequent move from a temporary location will not entitle you to payments for travel time or costs under the Relocation and Excess Travel Policy.

Whatever your background, as an experienced intelligence analyst, your skillset will be welcome to support the NCA\\\'s unique mission. There are opportunities to work in locations all over the UK in varied roles. You will be at the forefront of briefing ministers on strategic intelligence findings, delivering investigative support against the highest risk OCGs affecting the UK, utilising innovative methods and finding new targets to amplify impact against some of the greatest problems affecting UK law enforcement.

Responsibilities

  • Access a range of covert and overt capabilities to inform work, collaborate with government, law enforcement, UK Intelligence Community and private third sector to support tactical, thematic and strategic objectives.
  • Regularly work with large, multiple data sources to interpret and inform on threat, identify new lines of enquiry and disruption opportunities, and present data visually in an accessible format.
  • Provide accurate, clear and high-quality analytical products that inform the prioritisation of serious organised crime nominals and groups, threat areas understanding and decision-making at the highest levels of law enforcement.
  • Work closely with Intelligence, Investigation and Threat area officers; regularly brief on analytical findings and provide direction and recommendations.
  • Benefit from a dedicated analytical line management structure and access to wider team support through forums and continuous professional development events.
  • Contribute to the National Assessments Centre (NAC) outputs to inform the UK\\\'s understanding of SOC threats and support decision making at senior levels across operational, policy and Whitehall contexts.
  • Operate across operational intelligence analysis, including the use of data analytics techniques and technology to identify disruption opportunities and produce concise findings.
  • Maintain IPP accreditation (or equivalent) and deliver high-quality analysis to support intelligence development and judicial outcomes.
  • Work across locations including Birmingham, Bristol, London and Warrington as required; full location details are available on the NCA Recruitment Portal.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Formal intelligence analysis training (e.g. NIAT, GIAT, DIAM, NAP, or equivalent) and at least one of IPP Intelligence Analyst certification or equivalent experience in intelligence analyst functions.
  • Ability to carry out intelligence analysis within law enforcement, defence or national security and communicate results to influence decision making.
  • Good knowledge of analytical techniques and tools in a Serious and Organised Crime (SOC) environment.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and policy within law enforcement, defence or national security (e.g. CPIA, ECHR) and understanding of its impact on role and agency activity.
  • Experience of supervising intelligence analysis and communicating results to influence decision making.
  • Demonstrated ability to research, gather and evaluate information from a wide range of sources and present actionable insights.
  • Eligibility to apply requires successful vetting checks (SC Enhanced and DV STRAP) prior to appointment.

  • Assessments will use the Success Profiles framework across Behaviours, Experience and Technical Skills.
  • A panel will assess how well your application demonstrates the requirements. Longlisting may apply in high-volume campaigns.

Benefits and Entitlements

  • Salary from £40,670 with a Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme contribution of £11,782.
