The NCA Academy has adopted an Officer‑centred, blended model to align learning within the Agency to the National Strategic Assessment and NCA Annual Plan. The model is a significant shift from predominantly classroom‑based courses to alternative delivery methods that support sustainable learning outcomes for officers and encourage self‑directed, experiential and social learning to enhance educational activities.

Learning needs within the Agency are very broad in scope. Internally delivered programmes include our Operational Development Programme (ODP), a full range of niche and specialist operational and systems training directly related to fighting serious and organised crime, as well as more generic programmes covering interpersonal skills, leadership, management and inclusion, diversity and equality.

This is a dynamic role; working as part of the Intelligence and Analysis team you will be responsible for designing and delivering a range of Intelligence and or Analytical courses to new and existing officers to enable them to continue to lead the UK's fight to cut serious and organised crime. We are looking for candidates who have a passion for the development, management and use of Intelligence and who want to not only improve others but themselves by learning new skills and methods to help develop the NCA's workforce.

As a member of the Intelligence and Analysis delivery team you will be delivering and designing key learning to aid staff in the NCA develop and use Intelligence to fight serious and organised crime. You will train new officers on what intelligence is, why it is so important and how we use it to enable operational decisions to be made including managing high risk situations such as threat to life.

Alongside this you will train Agency staff in how to create Intelligence Reports using the 3x5x2 system highlighting the importance of sharing intelligence correctly so that the correct people see it without risking the source of the intelligence. If you have an analytical background, you will be training and developing both new and current Intelligence Analysts to enable them to undertake vital work such as writing the National Strategic Assessment or developing Network Profiles of Organised Crime Groups.

Suitable qualified trainers will also lead on the training of managers in the Agency who undertake Intelligence Manager roles to enable them to have the relevant skills and knowledge to undertake this role. Successful candidates who do not currently hold a Training Essentials Programme qualification will be enrolled on the course, making this an excellent opportunity for those looking to begin or further develop a career in training.
