Enterprise Services provides and manages the enterprise IT capabilities that support the NCA and its partners in delivering operational outcomes across the Serious and Organised Crime (SOC) system. Operating 24/7, the team ensures services are reliable, resilient, and available when needed. They maintain a strong focus on delivering cost-effective, high-quality services while supporting ongoing transformation.
The Specialist Operational Services (SOS) team runs and maintains the NCA's most sensitive operationally focused front-line IT services. The team is comprised of IT professionals and law enforcement officers committed to delivering real-world benefits for the UK. Together, we ensure that specialist services are fit for purpose, resilient, and available 24/7, directly impacting the NCA's mission.
The role involves supporting the delivery and maintenance of critical Intelligence Collection and Digital Forensics capabilities, ensuring they meet the NCA's evolving operational demands. Responsibilities include:
- Delivering 1st and 2nd line support, and assisting with 3rd line activities of technical systems.
- Installing new hardware and configuring operating systems including Microsoft Server and various flavours of Linux.
- Maintaining and upgrading systems in line with business and technical requirements.
- Creating and maintaining technical documentation.
- Contributing to service improvements and adopting new technologies.
- Supporting the administration and maintenance of Active Directory services.
- Participating in an on-call 24/7 rota.
Entry requirements include experience in installing, configuring, and supporting server operating systems, administering Active Directory, and diagnosing infrastructure issues. A full, clean UK driving licence is required.
Desirable criteria include knowledge of Microsoft Server and Linux operating systems, understanding of networking principles, and experience with virtualisation technologies.
