Columbus Academy is seeking a full‑time Upper School Math Teacher to begin in August 2026.

Position Description

  • Teach four to five sections including Algebra, Algebra 2, Geometry, Pre‑Calculus and/or Calculus.
  • Serve as a grade‑level advisor to roughly 10 students and develop advisory curriculum.
  • Assume shared supervisory responsibilities expected of all upper‑school faculty members.
  • Collaborate with grade‑level and departmental colleagues on curriculum design and development.
  • Provide periodic updates to parents about student progress through written reports and in‑person conferences.
  • Use technological resources, including the school’s online learning management site and integration of iPads and laptops.
  • Hold students accountable for the Academy’s standards of behavior.
  • Work with others in the school community to support each student’s emotional well‑being.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in mathematics education or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of three years of teaching experience in middle or high school, preferably in mathematics.
  • Passion for teaching high school students and enthusiasm for the study of math concepts.
  • Knowledge of varied pedagogy and trends in mathematical instruction at the high‑school level.
  • Leadership qualities to inspire, motivate and develop students.
  • A reflective practitioner committed to continuous self‑improvement and lifelong learning.
  • Enthusiasm, a positive sense of humor, self‑confidence, and effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to lead or direct extracurricular activity or coach interscholastic sport if desired.
