Columbus Academy is seeking a full‑time Upper School Math Teacher to begin in August 2026.
Position Description
- Teach four to five sections including Algebra, Algebra 2, Geometry, Pre‑Calculus and/or Calculus.
- Serve as a grade‑level advisor to roughly 10 students and develop advisory curriculum.
- Assume shared supervisory responsibilities expected of all upper‑school faculty members.
- Collaborate with grade‑level and departmental colleagues on curriculum design and development.
- Provide periodic updates to parents about student progress through written reports and in‑person conferences.
- Use technological resources, including the school’s online learning management site and integration of iPads and laptops.
- Hold students accountable for the Academy’s standards of behavior.
- Work with others in the school community to support each student’s emotional well‑being.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in mathematics education or a closely related field.
- Minimum of three years of teaching experience in middle or high school, preferably in mathematics.
- Passion for teaching high school students and enthusiasm for the study of math concepts.
- Knowledge of varied pedagogy and trends in mathematical instruction at the high‑school level.
- Leadership qualities to inspire, motivate and develop students.
