Incoming teachers will join a dedicated and inspiring faculty whose ongoing reflection and renewal is supported by a school-wide culture of collaboration and innovation. Punahou School is currently recruiting Full-Time Regular Math faculty members. Faculty members are responsible for designing and delivering effective classroom instruction, attending regular conferences with colleagues, and meeting with students during office hours to provide extra support. The ideal candidate will adapt to diverse classroom environments, deliver ongoing instructional programmes smoothly, and thrive in a team-oriented and collaborative environment. Excellent communication skills, effective use of classroom time, and ability to motivate students to maximise learning opportunities are required.
Position Details
- Work Year: 9 Months
- School Year: 2026-2027
- Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM, schedule may vary based on operational needs
- Faculty Salary Range*: $59,790 – $120,828 – compensation commensurate with qualifications
Punahou School offers a comprehensive total rewards programme that includes competitive pay. The pay rate reflects the range of pay for faculty, which is dependent upon educational attainment and years of relevant experience.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics or a related field
- Thorough knowledge of content including at least high school Pre-Calculus
- Demonstrated familiarity with curriculum, teaching methods, assessment frameworks, and age-related expectations of students
- Ability to administer and interpret a variety of assessments
- Working familiarity with assistive technologies, Internet and Email systems, word processing and spreadsheet software
- Familiarity with Apple computers and their instructional use to enhance student learning
- Working knowledge of various office and video equipment
- Knowledge of educational software
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
Preferred Qualifications
- Three (3) years of experience working in a high school setting
- Experience teaching Pre-Calculus, AP Statistics, Differential Calculus, and/or AP Calculus AB courses
- Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds; understanding of adolescent developmental needs and sensitivity to individual student’s needs
