The National Motorcycle Museum & National Conference Centre is a vibrant and dynamic family business situated in Solihull. The business enterprise includes The Manor Hotel- Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar & Grill in Meriden and The Windmill Village Hotel, Golf Club & Spa.
We are looking for a motivated and detail-focused Payroll and Accounts Assistant to join our friendly accounts team. In this role, you will take responsibility for the weekly payroll process for the 3 sites, ensuring all employees are paid accurately and on time. This includes processing timesheets, overtime, allowances, deductions, and statutory payments, while maintaining compliance with HMRC regulations, including P45s, P60s, pension contributions, and National Minimum Wage requirements. Experience with Sage Payroll, or similar platforms is essential.
Alongside your core payroll responsibilities, you will provide HR administrative support. This will involve maintaining accurate employee records, updating systems with starters, leavers, contractual changes, and absence information. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in payroll administration and a strong understanding of payroll legislation. You will be organised, accurate, and confident handling sensitive information, with the ability to work independently and communicate effectively across the business. HR administration experience is desirable as a secondary focus.
Principal place of work will be at our Head Office in Catherine de Barnes, Solihull. Hours of work up to 20 hours. Monday, Tuesday and possibly Wednesday. This is a fully office-based role. Applicants must have previous experience within a payroll role to apply.
Daily duties:
- Checking the number of hours employees have worked
- Calculating wages and salaries
- Collaborating with the human resources department to maintain employee data
- Resolving issues employees have with timesheets, payslips and other payroll matters
- Changing employee bank records when necessary to process payments accurately
- Maintaining and updating payroll data within a modern HR/payroll system
- Handling employee payroll queries with professionalism and discretion
- Supporting weekly and monthly purchase payment runs
- Assisting with month-end finance processes and reporting
- Supporting with general office duties
You should have:
- Experience with Sage Payroll
- Familiarity with cloud-based HR/payroll platforms
- Strong understanding of payroll compliance
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
