NCC is offering an exciting opportunity for an NDT & Metrology Apprentice to join our advanced manufacturing and research environment.

About the Apprenticeship

This is the Non-Destructive Technologies Technician Level 3. The apprenticeship programme is designed to gain skills and technical expertise to become a certified NDT Operative in three NDT Methods. It includes health and safety training, 1‑to‑1 mentoring, seminars, practical work experience sessions, and on‑the‑job training while gaining hands‑on metrology experience supporting cutting‑edge technology development. The apprenticeship will last for 24 months. Typical hours of work are 37 hours per week, working Monday – Friday with flexibility in start and finish times and in when breaks are taken. We offer 25 days holiday in addition to public holidays.

What you'll do

  • Train in multiple NDT methods (e.g. Ultrasonic, Radiographic and Phased‑Array)
  • Assist with inspection of composite and metallic components
  • Support dimensional measurement using CMMs, laser trackers and 3D scanning systems
  • Contribute to research, validation and manufacturing development projects
  • Work alongside experienced Level 2 and Level 3 Engineers in a high‑tech R&D setting

Qualifications

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths, English and Science (Grade 4/C or above)
