We're in the process of creating a new Large Structures Innovation Centre on the Isle of Wight and looking for a facilities manager to join NCC as one of our first permanent hires to start getting boots on the ground! NCC have agreed to licence around 100,000 sqft of workshop and office space. The space makes up around 50% of the total facility, and NCC will assume accountability for that space shortly. In addition, the licensor will provide facilities services to NCC.
You’ll own the relationship with the licensor’s facilities team and ensure facilities services are delivered in support of NCC activity and its legal compliance obligations. In addition, NCC will shortly commence a project to convert part of the space and introduce workshop equipment and labs. This role will represent the "facility" in all project meetings and provide liaison with the licensor facilities team. Reporting to the Head of Estates Operations in Bristol, you’ll be our accountable on-site representative for the day-to-day operational management of NCC’s licensed space.
You’ll be responsible for the coordination of all visitors, contractors, and deliveries who enter the NCC space during the initial site setup phase and into/through the construction phase. The role plays a key part in maintaining high safety standards, building compliance, supporting Estates-led projects, and ensuring the effective delivery of services across the site through this important project. You’ll need to be comfortable operating by yourself much of the time to begin with, and this role would only be suitable for someone who has comprehensive experience carrying out the core tasks of the role without supervision.
