Nexus Support Limited is a specialist provider working alongside people with Learning Disabilities, Autism and Complex Needs aged between 16 and 45 and their families in the South Essex area (Basildon, Castle Point, Chelmsford, Southend). Your days will involve supporting individuals to live meaningful lives, developing new skills and participating in activities such as swimming, exercising, health & beauty and any other community activities they enjoy. When not out and about you will be on hand for chats and advice when times become challenging.

Responsibilities

  • Support individuals to live a meaningful life and achieve their goals.
  • Assist with planning and participating in community and home activities.
  • Provide advice and support during challenging times.
  • Work for a minimum of two shifts per week (home and community) with shift patterns that include early, late, sleep‑in and alternate weekends.
  • Build positive relationships by listening, discussing and planning goals and ambitions together.
  • Plan daily tasks and assist with practical activities such as cooking, cleaning and running errands.
  • Assist with personal care, including support with eating and administering medication.
  • Help to plan and participate in days out and other experiences.
  • Encourage independence wherever possible.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Full UK driver’s licence required.
  • Caring attitude with a passion for supporting others and motivation to help them achieve goals.
  • Team player able to work effectively with colleagues.
  • Resilience to maintain support during difficult times and confidence to seek help when needed.
  • Excellent listening and communication skills.
  • Comfortable with physical exercise and supporting people with complex needs.
