Overview
Essential Care and Support Abbeyvale, part of National Care Group, is hiring a Residential Chef. Salary: £12.80 per hour (£12,646.40 per annum). Working hours: 19 hours per week. Location: Abbeyvale, Blackhall Colliery area.
The Role
In this vital role, you’ll be responsible for preparing fresh, homemade meals that are not only delicious, but also tailored to meet the individual dietary needs of the individuals we support—including those with specialist requirements such as diabetes, food intolerances, or texture-modified diets.
- Plan and prepare nutritious, well-balanced meals and snacks
- Adapt dishes to suit specialist diets and individual preferences
- Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic kitchen environment
- Work closely with the care team to support individuals’ wellbeing through food
- Promote a homely, welcoming mealtime experience
About You
- Has experience in a kitchen or catering environment (care setting experience is a bonus)
- Understands food hygiene and dietary requirements (Level 2 Food Hygiene preferred)
- Is organised, reliable, and passionate about home-style cooking
