About Motto Merchant Services

Motto Merchant Services is a UK-based provider of advanced payment solutions. We help businesses accept card payments through PDQ terminals, integrated EPOS systems, mobile devices, and online gateways. Our approach is simple: deliver custom-built payment solutions with fast onboarding, next-day settlements, and 24/7 technical and commercial support. We work with businesses of all sizes to make payments more reliable, cost-effective, and future-ready.

The Role

We’re looking for an experienced Sales Executive with a strong background in payments and merchant services to help grow our client base and deliver smarter payment solutions to UK businesses. In this role, you’ll sell high-value solutions including PDQ terminals, EPOS integrations, mobile payment systems, and omnichannel payment setups. You'll engage directly with merchants, understand their needs, and guide them through both commercial and technical aspects of the onboarding process. This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a consultative, tech-savvy environment and wants more autonomy, stronger commission earning potential, and the chance to shape how payment solutions are delivered.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience in merchant acquiring or payment solutions (PDQ terminals, EPOS, payment routing, etc.)
  • Solid understanding of payment processors, acquiring banks, transaction fees, settlement flows, chargebacks, PCI compliance, etc.
  • Strong consultative B2B sales skills, ideally working with SME to mid-size businesses
  • Ability to scope technical requirements and liaise with internal teams to deliver integrated solutions
  • Bonus if you also have experience in recurring revenue models or merchant residuals
  • Upsell/account growth experience in the payments space

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and qualify merchant leads across retail, hospitality, mobile, and online sectors
  • Understand each merchant’s current setup, uncover pain points (e.g. high fees, downtime, lack of features), then design a tailored solution
  • Present compelling proposals combining hardware (mobile / countertop / wireless PDQ), EPOS integrations, and online payment options
  • Negotiate commercial terms including rates, fees, support SLAs, and implementation timelines
  • Close new merchant contracts and support a smooth onboarding process including device setup, integration, and fund flow configuration
  • Maintain and grow relationships with existing merchants – upsell additional services like extra terminals, loyalty tools, reporting features
  • Stay informed on payment regulations, PCI DSS compliance, and evolving trends like mobile wallets, contactless, and alternative payments

What Success Looks Like

  • Building and managing your own high-quality sales pipeline
  • Consistently closing deals with minimal handholding
  • Becoming a go-to expert on complex merchant setups within your first 6 months
  • Earning strong commissions while delivering real value to clients

Why Join Motto

  • Strong earning potential – competitive base + commission, residuals, and performance bonuses
  • Flexibility & autonomy – manage your own pipeline and shape how you deliver solutions
  • Room to grow – clear path to senior roles or specialist account positions
  • Learn & develop – ongoing training in payments tech, compliance, and merchant strategy
  • Be valued – work in a focused team where your payments expertise matters

Ready to join? If you know payments and want to take control of your earning potential and career path, we’d love to hear from you.
