As a Senior Product Development Engineer at 3M Scott Health & Safety Limited, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
- Developing world-class Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) using advanced materials, analysis, and validation.
- Collaborating with global colleagues to ensure product performance meets rigorous durability and regulatory requirements.
- Maintaining effective communication with project team, staff, and project owners.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who meet the following minimum requirements:
- Possess a bachelor’s degree or higher in either Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering (completed and verified prior to start).
- Experienced in Mechanical Design/Development in a private, public, government or military environment.
Additional knowledge / nice-to-have skills / preferred qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Background in the design of plastic components (injection moulding) as well as the design of metal-formed components (sheet metal and machined).
- Experience using 3D solid modelling tools (Inventor or equivalent) in conjunction with Design Analysis Tools (FEA, CFD & Moldflow).
- Experience with global teams involved with New Product Development.
Job specifics
This position is based at our Skelmersdale location. May include up to 10% travel both domestic and international. Relocation is not authorized. This position is expected to work at the office. Full remote work is not an option. Working pattern: Full time.
