About the role//

The NBA is seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Director – PR & Communications to lead its strategy and public relations across Europe and the Middle East. You will have the opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of basketball in this leadership role.
As Senior Director – PR & Communications, you will oversee and implement the NBA’s communication strategy for Europe and the Middle East, creating compelling campaigns to enhance visibility, build awareness, and support commercial growth.
Reporting to the EME Vice President – Head of Content, Social & PR, you will be a key part of the Senior Leadership Team, driving initiatives that align with the NBA’s strategic goals. From managing regional communications to spearheading public relations for high-profile events like the Global Games, your role will have a direct impact on how the NBA is perceived across the region. You’ll collaborate with NBA headquarters in New York and manage an extensive network of PR agencies across Europe to ensure consistent messaging and measurable results.
Your skills and experience//
- Extensive experience in public relations and strategic communications, with significant experience in a senior leadership role.
- Proven expertise in European or Middle Eastern media and public relations, with established relationships across sports, consumer, and business media.
- A passion for sports and basketball – familiarity with US sports is a plus.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, alongside the ability to think strategically and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong leadership capabilities, including managing teams, budgets, and complex projects.
- The ability to anticipate problems and identify opportunities to build/protect the NBA brand.
