NBCCM is an indirect wholly owned subsidiary of National Bank of Canada (“NBC”).

The main strategic purpose of NBCCM is to enable the NBC Group (“NBC Group,” meaning National Bank of Canada and all its subsidiaries) to grow and diversify its presence in Europe, Asia & MENA while allowing for a natural development of its existing business relationships and the establishment of new ones in the global markets.

NBC has over 150 years of history and is currently the 6th largest Canadian bank.

Through its branch and subsidiary network, NBC can service clients throughout North America, Europe, Asia & MENA.

NBC’s strategy is to further develop NBCCM as its hub for trading and financial services in Europe.

Summary: Serve as the on‑site point of contact for all user IT issues; deliver end‑to‑end support across hardware, software, mobile fleet, and local infrastructure.

Coordinate DR testing, vendor relationships (including plant and facilities), and act as “hands & eyes” for data centre/network operations.

  • Role & Key Responsibilities – London / Paris
  • Desktop Support
  • Be the on-site point of contact for all the IT-related issues encountered by on-site and remote users and provide advanced end-to-end technical support to quickly resolve all reported IT issues.
  • Proactively diagnose problem situations, take action and help resolve by implementing solutions and mitigation plans.
  • Work with other IT teams or liaise with 3rd party providers to resolve issues and assist in rolling out new technologies.
  • Assess the potential impacts of rolling out new technologies.

Take part in various complex analyses to assess and identify potential issues with the Capital Markets/Trading ecosystem.

Make recommendations to optimize system efficiency and resolve issues.

  • Help users work more effectively with new collaboration tools, including Office 365 to maximize efficiency and productivity.

Be proactive by innovating and suggesting ways to better use new technologies.

  • Help create and maintain documentation and procedures for all systems, including IT policies and standards, and ensure compliance to these.
  • Hardware Management
  • Maintain hardware inventory, ensuring machines are configured in accordance with bank’s IT policies.
  • Evergreen hardware in accordance with the bank’s IT policies.
  • Purchase, image and configure desktop hardware for user deployment as per their business needs.
  • Purchase peripherals and perform desktop hardware upgrades.
  • Coordinate warranty repairs and replacements with vendors.
  • Maintain the mobile phone contracts.
  • Order new connections – renew / lapse devices at contract end.
  • Troubleshoot network / roaming issues with vendor.
  • Ensure devices are present in Apple Business Manager and correct profiles are present for recorded users.
  • Disaster Recovery Testing
  • Perform biannual ‘loss of site’ DRP testing.
  • Make change requests and create implementation plans.
  • Gather test results and evidence for auditing.
  • Make Firewall / Whitelisting requests to remedy connection issues.
  • Find solutions to any hardware performance issues.
  • Maintain relationships with plant vendors and building management.
  • Organise regular maintenance visits in accordance with maintenance contracts for Air Con, UPS, BMS, Sprinkler system.
  • Submit permits / coordinate with landlord for any onsite works by 3rd parties.
  • Troubleshoot plant issues / organise emergency contractor visits.
  • Coordinate annual PAT electrical testing.
  • Project Involvement
  • Implement local and bank-wide initiatives and projects in London and Paris.
  • Provide on-site support for IOC, Wintel and Telecom-Voice teams for maintenance and troubleshooting of network and server infrastructure.

Qualifications & Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information technology, computer science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • 3–5 years of experience in desktop support or IT operations within a corporate environment.

  • Microsoft Endpoint Administrator (MD-102)

ITIL Foundation preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, Azure Active Directory, and basic networking.
  • Familiarity with Intune, Apple Business Manager, and mobile device management.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills for hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for asset management and compliance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with users, vendors, and IT teams.
  • High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and adherence to security and compliance standards.
