NAB's International network supports NAB's Australian customer franchise globally, and services multinational customers with Australian interests. The Northern Hemisphere Audit team supports the delivery of NAB Group Audit assurance within the Bank's Corporate and Institutional (C&I) Division. The Audit team provides full audit coverage of NAB's business activities located in the London and New York Branches. Collectively with our Paris-based auditor, as a European Audit function, we also provide audit services for NAB's European subsidiary, NAB Europe S.A.

The principal lines of business are Markets Sales and Trading, Treasury (funding and liquidity), Lending and Corporate Finance activities in the primary markets. Branch/Subsidiary support functions including Operational Risk and Compliance, Finance, Technology and People departments also fall within the scope of the Northern Hemisphere Audit team.

This London-based role, prioritising audit coverage of the Northern Hemisphere requires an experienced Auditor, working as part of the Northern Hemisphere team of six professionals. This role will support the planning, execution and reporting of Audit activity as set out in the Audit Charter and the annual Audit Plan. You will have a challenging role in assessing the quality and effectiveness of risk management and control systems as well as identifying opportunities for improvement. The role will require a travel element, principally to NAB's New York and Paris offices, to participate in integrated audits of New York and Paris business and support functions.

Experience: 4+ years in financial services risk‑based functions or internal audit in professional services firms.

Qualification Requirements: Tertiary qualifications in Business, Finance (inc. Accounting) or IT.

Key Accountabilities

  • Behave in line with NAB's values.
  • Efficient delivery and documentation of quality audit workpapers in the systems of record, including walkthroughs, control identification, control design assessments and control operating effectiveness testing.
  • Efficient verification of audit raised issues within internal SLA targets once the business indicate issues are complete, supported by quality workpapers.
  • Provide timely feedback and coaching to colleagues to promote a performance and development culture.
  • Plan and project manage delivery of audits within agreed resource and time budgets.
  • Draft succinct and clear audit assignment plans that reflect agreed scope.
  • Form effective working relationships with business contacts during audits so information can be gathered and facts verified, and escape delivery problems where they cannot be directly solved.
  • Proactively manage risk; meet all policy and compliance requirements; perform controls; adhere to Process and Procedures pertinent to role; and escape events, issues or breaches as they are identified.
  • Actively contribute to and participate in the delivery of Northern Hemisphere and 'Financial Risk' Audit Strategic Initiatives.
