Location: NAWT Hertfordshire, Tylers Way, Watford By-Pass, Watford, WD25 8WT

Hours: 32 hours per week

Salary: £12.21 per hour

About the role

The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for ensuring that the Centre is properly maintained to a high standard and in good working order.

  • To be responsible for ensuring that the site is maintained to a high standard.
  • To ensure that all Health & Safety legislation is adhered to and the site is compliant with Health & Safety regulations.
  • To ensure that the site is at all times clean and presentable and free from hazards.
  • To complete the bi-annual stock-take of all tools and materials.
  • To ensure that all tasks allocated to you are carried out to the best of your ability and within the timeframe expected.
  • To complete pat testing of the centre's equipment yearly.
  • To assist the centre with ideas and improvements towards the enhancement of the centre's facilities.

Vehicles

  • To be responsible as delegated for the general maintenance and upkeep of all Centre vehicles, trailers, etc., ensuring that they are roadworthy and fit for purpose.
  • To drive our vans as it is essential to transport animals to and from the vets and collect donations or goods to support our fundraising activities as and when required.

Events

  • To assist at external and internal events, under the direction of the Centre Manager and Supervisors.
  • To ensure that Health & Safety regulations are adhered to.

Other Duties

  • To attend any Team and other internal meetings as requested.
  • To attend relevant training and personal development opportunities in order to fulfil the requirements of the post.
  • To adhere to all NAWT policies and procedures and assist the organisation in developing, implementing and monitoring them, including Equal Opportunities and Health & Safety policies.
  • To carry out any other duties relevant to the post as directed by the Centre Manager or Board of Trustees.
