As a Consultant (Client Manager) in the Global Benefits Management (GBM) team you will manage the global relationship for a range of clients, ensuring delivery against their strategic and tactical goals for benefits regionally or globally. You will be responsible for their insured employee benefits, overseeing the coordination of renewals locally and appointment of Mercer in all mandated locations. Mercer provides insights, advice and technology-driven solutions to help build brighter futures for our clients, colleagues and communities.
Global Benefits Management (GBM) allows multinational organisations to manage their insured employee benefits around the world more effectively. The Mercer Marsh Benefits (MMB) global GBM solution delivers everything clients need when it comes to local broking renewals, global co‑ordination, technology, governance and consulting.
We will count on you to:
- Manage a number of client relationships and provide advice with regards to global insured benefits.
- Oversee the implementation and ongoing management of GBM appointments and maintain client satisfaction, ensuring key activities are completed and internal / external parties are aligned.
- Work proactively and closely with all members of the client team to influence delivery and ensure that commitments to the client are met, fostering a culture of shared responsibility and ownership.
- Liaise directly with senior‑level Global Client Managers, as the lead global contact for client deliverables required under the Global Benefits Management appointment.
- Support with the execution of the client's global benefit strategy, including things such as benefit harmonisation, minimum standards or global benefit financing.
- Oversee the coordination of local in‑country colleagues in their role of local specialist/brokers.
- Support clients to monitor their employee benefit programmes around the world, providing regular reports and updates, to make sure global governance processes are being followed.
- Stay up to date with changes in international employee benefit trends and issues, monitor market developments and consult with clients on these matters.
- Proactively look for opportunities to grow client revenue as well as supporting with new business development opportunities.
What you need to have:
- Proven consulting, client management or broking experience, preferably gained from a similar role in a large complex, global organisation.
- Previous experience in the Insurance, Financial Services or Employee Benefits sectors, working with multinationals.
- Strong client focus with relevant client facing experience.
- Ability to consult, analyse and communicate on insured employee benefit related products.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with strong attention to detail.
- Experience in simultaneously managing multiple projects/tasks and have an organised approach, with the ability to prioritise, drive them to conclusion.
- Results‑orientated, accustomed at setting high standards and working in a demanding environment.
- Strong self‑starter, fast learner, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

- Have a good understanding of employee benefit risk financing solutions.
- Experience managing benefit renewals in conjunction with Flexible Benefits platform providers.
