Marsh Portfolio Solutions (MPS) is a dynamic client‑centric practice within Marsh UK that places and manages a range of innovative portfolio placement solutions on behalf of Marsh Specialty Practices. MPS comprises of 50 dedicated professionals who provide a range of intermediary services to insurer clients including sophisticated management information and innovative placement structures. We are seeking an Account Manager to join MPS in a role that will take you in a different direction in comparison to a more “traditional” broking role in insurance.
Working alongside the QS DUA team, you will be responsible for managing the relationships with the Insurers, the Specialty Practice and the placement of Quota Share eligible risks into the facility Insurers.
What can you expect?
- Placement of Quota Share eligible risks under a new DUA agreement, including recording of all incoming and outgoing transactions.
- Day to day management of the relationships with the Practice brokers and the panel of Facility Insurers, including attending regular meetings.
- To execute the due diligence and external audit processes for delegated authority relationships, ensuring adherence to risk and compliance frameworks.
- Form a part of team that presents and delivers to prospective markets on new opportunities.
- Preparation and presentation of reports and dashboards to both the Facility Insurers and the Specialty Practice where required.
- Tracking and achieving all KPIs and SLAs for the contractual obligations.
We will rely on you to:
- Serve as the first point of contact for day‑to‑day communications with brokers and designated clients (facility insurers), follows up on correspondence.
- Work to strengthen and grow account relationships between MPS and the insurers.
- Provide training on processes and the DUA for Marsh broker colleagues.
- Address escalated issues and concerns in a timely and effective manner, helps manage expectations, mitigate relationship risks and applies judgement as to when to escape major issues to senior level colleagues ensuring compliance.
- Develop strong relationships with professional counterparts at client organizations.
- Develop an understanding of client businesses by conducting research, may provide research on industry or other analysis.
- Support colleagues by managing day‑to‑day aspects for designated accounts and conducts ensuing account management tasks including working with the account executive on contract development, requests and gathering of information from carriers and colleagues, participating on projects, liaising between internal senior professionals and organizing meeting logistics to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Lead meetings with clients and other Marsh colleagues in the performance of delivering consulting advice.
- Mitigate account concerns or issues encountered, addresses problems in a timely manner and applies judgement as to when and what to escape up to senior level colleagues.
- Report to senior colleagues on relationship satisfaction to ensure a mutual understanding both internally and externally.
- Develop and maintains a fluency in the company's and assigned carrier’s products, colleagues and operations to enrich work performed and develop improved capabilities for their clients.
- Serve as the project or account manager for the account team on larger initiatives or complex accounts, implements action plans, monitors progress, assures service meets or exceeds expectations.
- Present facility performance analysis to our facility insurers.
What you need to have:
- We are looking either for a grad/entry level candidate or an experienced insurance professional.
- Ability to build relationships internally at all levels of senior management and peers within other departments is essential.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Highly organised and methodical in an approach.
- Ability to work under pressure, often to tight deadlines.
- Detail focused.
