MOJ Portal File Handler Location: Remote – travel required for meet ups and conferences Salary: £28,000 – £30,000 DOE Contract type: Permanent Hours: Full time About the Job At National Accident Law, we work differently to handle compensation claims in a modern, imaginative and refreshingly personal way. We\’re looking for the curious minds that can shape and drive innovation in accident injury law. Our MOJ Portal File Handlers are pivotal in the portal settlement process by obtaining, reviewing, and finalising medical evidence on admitted cases to drive lucrative settlements. In this role you will play a fundamental role in the claims process and be responsible for providing technical expertise enabling key decisions to be made on case progression towards successful settlement of cases and key actions to be taken prior to the issuing of proceedings. This is a remote role; however, we believe that for good employee engagement it is important to periodically meet with our employees and so it is expected that our fabulous remote workers attend communication events and team days that typically take place in the North of England, or our Kettering office. As part of your key responsibilities you\’ll: • Drive the settlement of admitted cases that sit in the portal • Manage clients calls, offering up-to-date information and next-step guidance • Obtain medical evidence and review within agreed SLA • Finalise medical evidence with clients to allow for disclosure • Settle Infant Cases and issue for IAH in a timely and pro-active manner • Deal with MIB untraced matters – adhering to MIB timeframes • Review full details of the claim to make considered offers • Assess defendant offers, concluding how to proceed • Draft correspondence to steer the claim to conclusion • Draft settlement packs to drive settlements via effective negotiation • Work individually and as part of a team to meet and exceed targets • Draft and subsequently handle all court applications where required • Prepare cases for issue court proceedings, preparing court bundles, instructing counsel to achieve successful outcomes • Confidently and clearly relay information to the consumer, adhering to high customer service standards About You Here are the skills and experience you need to be successful in this role: • Experience of MOJ Portal • Understand PI processes, including medicals valuations MOJ stage 2 and 3 process\’ • Strong negotiator, able to persuade and influence others • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • High levels of attention to detail • Analyse and interpret information to make decisions • Strong IT competence using multiple systems interchangeably • Excellent customer service skills • Ability to handle volume work to drive efficient case life cycles • Proven ability to handle own caseload, adhering to strict SLAs • Ability to manage risk and make commercially sound decisions And here are some of the personal attributes that would fit this role and our business: • Target driven • High collaboration skills to achieve overall team goals • High levels of attention to detail • Curious • Driven • Unified • Passionate At National Accident Law, we believe that diversity drives success.
