We are happy to offer this role on a remote basis, with travel min. twice a month required to meetings in the North of England (typically Stockport). PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
As the leader of our Serious Injury Team, you will be responsible for the successful management of our expert serious injury file handlers and their caseload. You will be responsible for supporting the team and the customer to handle claims in an empathetic and reassuring way, whilst managing processes efficiently, securing the maximum win for both the customer and the business.
AS SERIOUS INJURY TEAM MANAGER YOU WILL
- Oversee the delivery of high value intermediate and multi-track injury work
- Manage the day-to-day running of the team and full end-to-end employee cycle
- Lead, develop and mentor a team of serious injury file handlers, influencing and supporting them to deliver strong results and support in the development of the serious injury team assistant.
- Ensure the team maximise client contact through home visits and regular contact, setting the expectation of great customer service, making sure it feeds through the journey
- Ensure all cases within the team are prepared for issue and handled in a timely manner
- Monitor the teams KPI performance in line with the commercial needs of the business – including meeting and exceeding their WIP targets
- Ensure team’s knowledge is up-to-date and being correctly applied to drive operational efficiencies
- Create an environment that engages high performing individuals to excel, whilst maintaining an environment which supports the spirit of teamwork, open and honest communication and the sharing of ideas and best practice
- Proactively develop ways to improve efficiency, quality and general performance of the team, regular reviewing of procedures and systems to identify any inefficiencies
- Act as an ambassador for quality, assessing cases for both training and coaching purposes, ensuring quality assessment is accurate to achieve regulatory and legal requirements
- Proactively establish and nurture relationships with key stakeholders both within and outside of the team to ensure that activities and performance of the team are in line with the needs of the business
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of our market to ensure the team is and remains fit for purpose
- Be responsible for team file closure decisions ensuring that files are closed in a timely and appropriate manner
- Ensure that regulatory requirements are met and adhered to at all times, liaising with the company’s COLP and compliance function
- Ensure the team meet strict court deadlines
- Be well versed with CPR rules and relevant case law
- Work closely with medical and rehab providers to obtain best service and manage costs
- Become a point of technical contact for any Mazur related Directions – APS
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Qualified Solicitor with experience in Personal Injury law
- Experienced managing a team of serious injury lawyers
- Experience of handling serious injury claims from a Claimant perspective with a strong billing history
- Technical expertise in the field of high value, complex, intermediate and multi-track work
- Demonstrate attention to detail
- Experienced in managing change and introducing new ways of working in a team
- Ability to analyse and interpret information to make decisions
- Ability to work interdepartmentally, managing stakeholder relationships constructively
