National Grid is hiring multiple Control Room Operators to work on site at our Viking Link Interconnector in Bicker Fen, Lincolnshire. In this role, reporting to the Control Room Manager, you’ll be part of a dedicated shift team of HVDC Control Room Operators who are responsible for controlling and monitoring the operation of the Viking Link HVDC interconnector connecting the electricity systems of Great Britain and Denmark.

You will play an essential role in this 24/7 real-time operation, whilst gaining additional knowledge and experience of the technical and commercial activities which underpin our operations.

Please Note: As the role is based on site at our Viking Link interconnector, we require candidates who can drive with a full UK driving licence. There may also be travel to different sites for training within the first few months of joining the team. Due to the nature of the role there is a requirement to work a shift pattern on a rotational basis which includes night working, weekends and occasional.
