This is not your typical finance job. If you’re looking for a role where you can cruise through month-end, rinse and repeat, this isn’t it! But if you want to roll up your sleeves, get into the engine room of a fast-growing business, and play a major role in implementing an ERP system that doesn’t make people scream, read on.
This company is growing. Fast. £100m turnover and climbing. There is a need for finance systems that can keep up - and that’s where you come in.
What You’ll Actually Be Doing:
- Supporting the Group Financial Controller in the ERP implementation as well as other smaller projects for finance - this is not a 'watch from the sidelines' gig.
- Translating business needs into ERP functionality - if you don’t understand why something matters, you’ll ask the right questions until you do.
- Writing test scripts, creating control documents, and keeping the project on the rails.
- Backfilling for BAU accountants - so they don’t drown while we make big changes.
- Monitoring project spend, ensuring compliance, and capitalising costs correctly - because 'we’ll figure it out later' is not a strategy.
- Working across departments to make sure the finance function is driving the business forward, not just keeping score.
What You Need to Bring:
- A proper accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Hands-on systems implementation experience - if you’ve never been near one, this will be a shock to the system.
- The ability to cut through the noise - you’ll be dealing with people who just want things to work, and it’s on you to help make that happen.
- A knack for explaining finance to non-finance people without making them fall asleep.
What You Need to Know:
- Location: South Cerney, between Swindon and Cirencester - this is an HQ-based role.
- Contract: 12-month FTC - a serious role with serious impact.
