This is not a maintenance job dressed up with a bigger title; it is a genuine opportunity to build, improve and lead change. Having grown five-fold in the past 5 years, the business is now at a point (c.£180m turnover) where it requires broader, more strategic financial leadership for its next chapter. With future acquisitions on the horizon, this newly defined CFO role will lead the transformation of the finance function.

You will have a strong track record in engaging others and taking them with you whether it’s in building and developing teams, partnering the business, communicating at Board level or instilling confidence in Investors. If you enjoy "spinning plates" and have the skills to know when and how to delegate rather than bury yourself in the mechanics of delivery - this role has it all! As an experienced FD, you don’t need to see a list of duties here; you know what to do.

To be clear, this is not a role for someone content to keep the seat warm or quietly preserve the status quo. The business is looking for a CFO who is energised by meaningful change: someone who can strengthen and modernise the finance function, build for scale and help create the platform for future growth. For the right person, this is the exciting part: the opportunity to leave a visible mark on a business with real momentum.

What You’ll Bring

  • A recognised professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to influence at Board level.
  • Ability to improve performance through systems, insight, and decisive action.
  • Track record of building and developing high-performing teams, together with the emotional intelligence to inspire trust, lead through change and get the best from those around you.

What’s in it for You?

  • £150,000 - £200,000
  • Car allowance
  • Pension
  • Health insurance
  • Hybrid working

Roles like this don’t appear often. Don’t worry if your CV isn’t perfect; send me what you have, or drop me a message on LinkedIn.
