Role Overview

Nasuni is hiring a Senior IT Systems Engineer to own and continuously improve the core systems that power our internal IT environment. This role sits between traditional systems administration and infrastructure engineering – focused on building, optimizing, and scaling critical IT platforms such as identity, endpoint management, and collaboration tools. You will be responsible for performance, reliability, and evolution of systems including Okta, Jamf/Intune, Atlassian (Jira/Confluence), and core SaaS platforms. This is a hands‑on engineering role – not a support function – focused on improving how systems operate at scale. This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy working behind the scenes to strengthen systems, automate workflows, reduce vulnerabilities, and improve how IT platforms function across a distributed organization. This role is not for candidates who prefer purely support‑based work or limited ownership environments.

Level & Scope Definition

  • Own day‑to‑day engineering and improvement of core IT systems (identity, MDM, SaaS tools)
  • Operate with high autonomy across IT, Security, and Infrastructure teams
  • Act as backup support for cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Focus on continuous improvement, system hardening, and scalability
  • Balance hands‑on execution (~70%) with system design and planning (~30%)

Responsibilities

  • Own and improve core IT systems (Okta, Jamf, Intune, Atlassian stack)
  • Manage endpoint systems including device provisioning, patching, and application deployment
  • Drive system improvements to reduce vulnerabilities and improve performance
  • Automate workflows across IT systems using scripting and AI‑assisted tools
  • Support consolidation and integration of new systems from acquisitions (e.g., Resilio)
  • Lead migration efforts (e.g., Google Workspace to M365, GitHub and cloud tools integration)
  • Partner with Security to identify and remediate vulnerabilities across systems
  • Act as backup for infrastructure operations across AWS, Azure, and GCP
  • Improve scalability and reliability of IT systems supporting a distributed workforce
  • Leverage AI tools to accelerate system analysis, documentation, and automation

Qualifications

Must‑Have

  • 5–8+ years in IT Systems Engineering or similar backend IT role
  • Hands‑on ownership of identity platforms (Okta) and MDM tools (Jamf, Intune)
  • Experience managing SaaS tools (Atlassian, collaboration platforms)
  • Strong experience with endpoint management, patching, and system hardening
  • Experience in SaaS or high‑growth environments
  • Strong understanding of security, vulnerabilities, and access control

Preferred

  • Experience supporting system migrations or post‑acquisition integration
  • Exposure to cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Scripting experience (PowerShell, Python)
  • Experience managing distributed or global workforce systems

Ideal

  • Owned IT systems in a fast‑scaling SaaS company
  • Reduced vulnerabilities or improved system performance at scale
  • Experience integrating large sets of tools (50–100+)
  • Experience using AI tools to automate IT workflows or system analysis

Experience Guidelines

  • 5–8+ years total experience
  • 3+ years owning identity, MDM, or SaaS systems
  • Experience supporting environments with 500+ users or distributed teams
