The Solution Architect supports Nasstar’s Data & AI Apps practice by designing modern, scalable, secure and cost-effective Data & AI solutions built on Microsoft technologies. The role bridges business outcomes and technical delivery - leading discovery, defining architectures, producing clear designs, and guiding engineering teams through delivery and production handover. This role is particularly focused on Azure-first, PaaS/SaaS-led solutions leveraging services such as Azure Microsoft Foundry, Microsoft Fabric, and broader Azure stack. You will work in a consultancy, client-facing environment - comfortable facilitating workshops, translating requirements into solution designs, leading solution technical delivery, and supporting pre-sales through estimations, solution options and value storytelling. As the team grows, there’s an opportunity to develop into a Capability/Team Lead position - helping evolve standards, reusable assets, and mentoring. The role is predominately remote with occasional travel to client sites or Nasstar offices.
Key Responsibilities
- Client discovery & solution shaping – Lead workshops, capture business goals and constraints, and translate them into solution options, trade-offs and recommendations.
- Architecture & design (Data, AI, and Applications) – Design end-to-end Azure solutions (data, analytics and GenAI), define patterns, and produce clear HLDs and supporting diagrams.
- Delivery leadership & governance – Guide engineers (C#/.NET/Python), drive design reviews, and ensure quality, security, observability, performance and cost controls are built in.
- Pre-sales, estimation & capability growth – Support proposals and delivery planning; contribute to reusable assets and standards; help grow toward a future Capability/Team Lead role.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Strong software engineering background with hands-on delivery in C#/.NET and/or Python on Azure.
- Proven experience designing and delivering Data & AI solutions using Azure PaaS/SaaS services.
- Client-facing consulting experience: workshops, stakeholder management, translating requirements into solution designs.
- Hands-on Microsoft Fabric experience (Lakehouse/Warehouse, Data Factory, Real-Time, semantic modelling, Power BI).
- Experience with Microsoft Foundry / LLMs patterns (RAG, agent workflows, evaluation, safety/guardrails).
- Integration knowledge (Functions, Logic Apps, API Management, Service Bus, Event Grid).
- Architecture skills: systems design, integration patterns, data flow and NFR-driven decision making.
- Communication: explains complex designs to technical and non-technical audiences; produces clear architecture artefacts.
- Collaboration and leadership: coaches engineers, drives design reviews and aligns stakeholders.
