Salary: £21.15 per hour (equivalent to £43,992 per year) depending on experience
Hours per week: 40hrs per week
Start & finish times: Monday to Friday – 7am – 3.30pm

Summary of role:
We are seeking a Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer with a strong mechanical bias, responsible for performing mechanical and electrical maintenance, including fixing and repairing machines and machinery. The role requires experience in aerospace, CNC machining and machining processes while also supporting general site maintenance and ensuring compliance with Health & Safety and company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively manage workflows in line with business needs and operational priorities, with flexibility to adapt to changing requirements. Report tasks and progress to the HSE and Facilities Manager.
- Complete planned and preventative maintenance activities in line with maintenance schedules.
- Carry out a wide variety of mechanical and electrical repairs, installations and maintenance tasks, including CNC machining (Mazak, Nakamura), PLC programming, hydraulics and pneumatics to ensure machines operate at optimal functionality and minimize downtime.
- Perform fitting, welding, fabrication, plumbing and joinery where required to keep the site well maintained.
- Carry out weekly checks on compressors and monthly checks on emergency lighting across site.
- Operate and capture Balbar results, interpret diagnostics and adjust machines to maintain optimal performance.
- Manage coolant procedures, including monitoring strengths, logging results and running the dipstick programme to keep coolant within limits.
- Identify and address issues such as wiring defects, circuit malfunctions and component degradation.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with Health and Safety regulations and company policies.
- Share knowledge and mentor junior/apprentice technicians to build a skilled maintenance team.
- Perform any other duties reasonably required by the Company from time to time.
- Ensure safety, reliability and optimal performance of mechanical and electrical systems through rigorous maintenance procedures, regular inspections and staying up to date with industry standards.
Role Requirements:
- Strong understanding of aerospace mechanical and electrical systems.
- Control and manage workflows, implementing effective work processes.
- Proficiency in IT, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and related software applications.
- Solid knowledge of machining processes, with hands‑on experience operating Mazak and Nakamura CNC machines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact with internal and external parties at all levels.
- Experience in maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of aerospace mechanical and electrical systems.
- Self‑motivated with ability to multi‑task, under guidance and supervision.
- Highly organised, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively to meet operational demands.
- Effective communication and collaboration within multidisciplinary teams.
