We are looking for a Marketing and Operations Manager to join our team on a full-time basis and play a key role in helping us enhance day to day operational matters and professionally articulate our brand to new clients and the investor community in the UK, Europe and elsewhere.

The role will largely consist of supporting management in operational matters, internal communications and running the various marketing activities of the business, which will have a direct impact on the business as it grows.

We are looking for someone who can take ownership of the marketing and events calendar, is a self-starter, a natural communicator and problem solver, and who can bring greater consistency and efficiency to work flows and new ideas about how we can improve our marketing function and better engage the Team with investors and prospective clients.

  • This Includes
  • Operational: Attending key internal meetings, (which are mostly virtual), and confirming and circulating actions.

Liaising with the Directors, minuting board meetings and ensuring key decisions are communicated appropriately.

  • Administrative

Support: Help manage the team’s calendar, schedule appointments, and coordinate meetings.

Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence, emails, and phone calls where directed.

Prepare and edit documents, reports, and presentations.

Maintain and organise marketing files and documents.

  • Project

Coordination: Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of marketing campaigns and events.

Track project timelines, deadlines, and deliverables to ensure they are met.

Collaborate with the wider team to ensure projects run smoothly.

  • Data

Management: Assist in data collection, analysis, and reporting.

Maintain and update marketing databases and contact lists.

Prepare and distribute marketing reports as required.

  • Market Research: Conduct research on industry trends, competitors, and customer preferences. Compile data and present findings to the Board for strategic decision-making.
  • Events: Organising and executing marketing events, both virtual and in-person, as well as keeping the team aware of relevant external marketing/networking events.

Managing post-event activity such as attendee list updates, and drafting content from events which can be used on the website and Linked In.

  • Calendar: Regularly updating and managing the marketing & events calendar
  • Social

Media: Drafting engaging Linked In posts which will increase content reach; engage with Ruffena’s target audience; raise brand awareness.

Monitoring engagement and making suggestions for improvement.

  • Website management: Regularly updating the Ruffena Capital website with high quality content, ensuring news items and case studies are up to date.
  • Content production: Collating and sending out monthly and quarterly newsletters, ensuring newsletter distribution lists are regularly updated with relevant contacts.

Assisting with copywriting and proofreading content.

  • PR & Communications: Ensuring the list of PR contacts is up to date and coordinating the drafting and distribution of upcoming PR and news.
  • KPIs: Monthly monitoring of key metrics, and making recommendations for channels that aren’t performing as well as they could be.
  • Marketing Meetings: Drafting the agenda and running a weekly marketing meeting for the Team.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in marketing roles, preferably in the financial sector
  • A self-starter who is able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Proven experience of successfully developing and executing on brand communication strategies
  • Good knowledge of digital marketing practice and trend including in social media
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Sense of design and experience applying consistent graphic standards
  • Proficient in the production of high-quality marketing materials
  • Strong written and spoken English
  • Detail-oriented and well-organized
  • Proactive and able to take initiative
  • Strong multitasking capabilities
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Experience in the private equity/ venture capital industry or engineering/ technology sectors
  • Experience in organising and managing events
  • Proficiency with marketing systems such as Mailchimp/Mailer Lite; Affinity CRM
  • Experience of using web based collaboration tools such as Google Workspace
