A rare opportunity has arisen for one of our independent Lloyd's Broker Clients, who are actively recruiting for a Junior Broker / Technician within their Transportation Division.
The role will involve preparing and processing open market slips, endorsements and formal quotations, alongside light premium processing and LPAN creation. The successful candidate will work closely with the broking team, providing technical, broking and administrative support to the team.
The portfolio is predominantly focused on US trucking business and in-house facilities, with additional exposure to Canadian and New Zealand livestock and cargo risks.
Key Responsibilities
- Build an effective bridge between brokers and technicians, ensuring clear communication and smooth progression of business from submission through to placement.
- Support brokers with the preparation and placement of wholesale insurance business.
- Prepareopen market slips for placement into lineslips and facilities.
- Prepare and process endorsements in line with broker and client requirements.
- Prepare formal quotations and supporting documentation.
- Assist with the placement of risks through appropriate facilities, binders and lineslips.
- Provide day-to-day broking support to the wider broking team.
- Liaise with brokers, technicians, insurers, coverholders and underwriters and other relevant stakeholders as required.
- Ensure information is accurately captured and communicated throughout the placement process.
- Create LPANs and ensure relevant documentation is accurately recorded.
About You
- 1-2 years of experience for a London Market Broker - essential
- Experience in creating Open Market Slips - essential
- Strong communication and attention to detail skills
- Ability to work independently or as a part as a team
- Strong negotiation and client facing skills
