We are recruiting on behalf of a well established, independent global insurance and reinsurance broker with a strong presence in the London market. Known for its specialist expertise, collaborative culture and entrepreneurial approach, the business operates across multiple international territories and prides itself on delivering tailored solutions and high levels of service to clients.
Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Premium Technician with strong Energy class of business experience to join their Central Operations team on a 12 month fixed term contract.
The Role
You will be responsible for managing all aspects of premium processing in line with departmental procedures and agreed service levels. This is a technical role requiring strong Energy class of business knowledge, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete risk profiles within management systems
- Produce signed lines, confirmations of placement, invoicing and FATCA documentation
- Create and maintain accurate files
- Process and monitor incoming post and emails
- Produce and forward documentation to Lloyd’s and LIRMA markets via A&S
- Send closings to company markets
- Assess and process premium movements
- Maintain diaries for quarterly and yearly adjustments where required
- Complete LORS entries
- Maintain premium payment warranty calendar entries
- Obtain agreement to premium bordereaux where required
- Respond to market and client queries, liaising with Accounts to ensure prompt settlement of balances
- Work collaboratively with other departments to resolve queries
- Produce ad hoc reports and maintain statistical data
- Adhere to company and regulatory policies, procedures and mandatory training requirements
- Support financial reporting requirements, including monthly phasing of income
About You
- At least 5 years’ experience in a similar premium processing role
- Premium accounting experience is essential
- Strong understanding of Insurance and Reinsurance principles
- Experience with A&S (IMR) and LORS entries
- Knowledge of Eclipse or Sequel systems would be advantageous
- Understanding of FCA requirements
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to produce consistently accurate documentation
- Clear and confident communicator, both written and verbal
- Able to work effectively as part of a team and build strong internal and external relationships
- Able to demonstrate accountability, collaboration, discipline and initiative in your approach
