Summary of Position: To deal with all aspects of the claims process from advice through to settlement as directed by your Head of Department.
Key Responsibilities
â–ª Assisting Senior team members and Brokers with claims handling process
â–ª Create and maintain claims/accounts files
â–ª Input document details on to the in-house system
â–ª Assess and process claims and premiums
â–ª Produce and send advice, collection, premium and treaty documentation
â–ª Broke advices and collections to London Market where appropriate
â–ª Obtain agreement to advices and collections via ECF system
â–ª Liaise with the Insurance Accounts Department to ensure prompt payments of claims & premiums
â–ª Collect funds from clients and settle to reinsurers within Terms of Trade
â–ª Produce accurate statistics where required
â–ª Deal with market, client and internal queries
â–ª Conduct business meetings with clients and reinsurers
â–ª General office duties and ad hoc tasks as required
â–ª Adhere to company and regulatory policies & procedures together with mandatory training requirements.
â–ª Adhere to financial reporting requirements including monthly phasing of income.
Experience
â–ª London Market Claims experience required, preferably with some North American Marine
â–ª Previous ECF & IMR experience required
â–ª Effectively contribute to the team and interact with others
â–ª Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
â–ª Ability to use ones own initiative to work out any problems, which may arise
â–ª Professional attitude to work
â–ª Punctual and Conscientious
