An independent and well-respected Lloyd's Broker is seeking an Account Manager within their Delegated Authorities Division. This exciting position includes taking ownership of a portfolio of Delegated Authority Contracts, acting as the key link between Producing Brokers, Clients, Underwriters and the Technical Ops teams.
Role Responsibilities
- Support Producing Brokers on complex broking matters, including renewal strategy, capacity discussions, pricing dynamics and syndicate relationship management.
- Participate in (and sometimes lead) client and underwriter meetings, representing the delegated authority function with authority and credibility.
- Lead the renewal process for delegated authority contracts within the portfolio, including early-stage planning, stakeholder coordination and delivery.
- Drive strategic renewal improvements such as coverage refinement, data enhancement, pricing quality, bordereaux accuracy and capacity retention.
- Serve as the second line of defence and the senior liaison between Producing Brokers and the Technical Operations.
- Ensure all delegated authority activities meet Lloyd’s, regulatory and internal governance standards.
- Own the resolution of complex exceptions, referrals and special acceptances.
- Conduct monthly or quarterly portfolio performance reviews with brokers, underwriters and clients to highlight trends, risks, and improvement actions.
- Act as a senior point of contact for client and Coverholder issues — ensuring timely, high-quality resolution of operational and technical matters.
- Support the Producing Broker in building and maintaining strong relationships with Coverholders, TPAs and carriers.
- Support new business opportunities by providing delegated authority expertise.
About You
- 3 years of Lloyd's of London Insurance experience with a solid understanding of Lloyd’s and Delegated Authority frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of Binders.
- Solid commercial awareness with the ability to support brokers on placement structure, renewal strategy, pricing considerations and capacity management.
- Skilled in navigating underwriter discussions and client interactions with confidence, authority and technical credibility.
- Excellent relationship-building skills with brokers, underwriters, Coverholders, TPAs and internal stakeholders.
- Confident communicator, able to present technical information in a clear, structured, and commercially relevant way.
- Comfortable acting as the senior escalation point for complex referrals, exceptions and performance issues.
- Competent in reviewing and interpreting bordereaux, performance MI, loss runs, aggregate reports and underwriting KPIs.
