STUDENT ENROLMENT ADVISER – DOMESTIC RECRUITMENT & WIDENING PARTICIPATION
REPORTS TO: Head of Domestic Recruitment & Widening Participation
SALARY: up to £38,000 depending on experience

ABOUT THE ROLE
This role plays a key part in supporting the recruitment and enrolment of both UK-based international students and home students to ASU London. Working closely with the Head of Domestic Recruitment & Widening Participation and the Student Recruitment Officer, the postholder will be responsible for meeting conversion and enrolment targets across both audiences while delivering an exceptional student experience. The role acts as the primary conversion contact for prospective students from enquiry stage through to enrolment.
The role is responsible for consultative, high-touch engagement across phone, email, live chat, and 1:1 CRM-based communications, supporting prospective students through decision-making and progression to enrolment. All live chat, inbound enquiries, and 1:1 applicant communication are owned and managed by the Student Enrolment Adviser. This excludes marketing campaigns, marketing automation, and outbound promotional communications, which sit within Marketing.
A key aspect of this role is delivering against two equally important recruitment streams: UK-based international (UKI) students and home students, each contributing equally to enrolment targets and institutional priorities. The role will also deliver events and activities as defined in our Access and Participation Plan (APP) to enable us to meet our associated targets.
The postholder is expected to apply appropriate messaging, guidance, and conversion approaches tailored to the differing needs of each cohort, while maintaining equal focus on performance outcomes across both groups. Adhering to CMA and brand guidelines the postholder is expected to have an excellent standard of written English and attention to detail.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- UKI & Domestic Student Recruitment & Engagement
- Deliver engagement and outreach activity across both UK-based international (UKI) and home audiences in accordance with our Access and Participation Plan and recruitment strategy.
- Proactively engage and convert prospective students through consultative conversations via phone, email, live chat, events, school/college visits and digital channels.
- Respond to student enquiries in real time and asynchronously, providing tailored advice and guidance to support decision-making.
- Manage timely follow-up activity to progress applicants through the recruitment funnel and maximise conversion and enrolment.
- Contribute to lead generation through events, outreach and engagement activity.
- CRM, Data & Reporting
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within the CRM system.
- Ensure full tracking of all applicants, prospective students, and school/company records across channels.
- Responsible for CRM data integrity including deduplication, cleansing, and maintenance of accurate contact and applicant records.
- Manage import and integration of offline data into CRM where required, ensuring completeness of applicant journeys.
- Capture, structure, and communicate insight from prospective students and applicants to support continuous improvement of marketing messaging, recruitment strategy, and student experience.
- Ensure consistent data discipline across all stages of the recruitment funnel to support reporting accuracy and performance tracking.
- Support reporting and data extraction for performance monitoring, regulatory reporting in accordance with our APP commitments, forecasting, and decision-making.
- Events, Outreach & Travel
- Represent ASU London at UK-based recruitment fairs, including UCAS-style events and UK University Search fairs.
- Undertake UK travel for school, college and community engagement activity.
- Participate in and support facilitation of on-campus and virtual recruitment events for prospective students including open days, campus tours, offer holder days and student welcome events.
- Deliver presentations, workshops and information sessions tailored to both UKI and home/WP audiences including Thinking Ahead.
- Build and maintain relationships with schools, colleges, pathway providers and widening participation partners.
- Responsible for conversion performance and follow-up outcomes from domestic recruitment events and engagement activity.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
Essential
- Ideally 4–8 years’ experience in sales or customer service (retail, student recruitment, hospitality, travel, telecoms, IT or similar sectors).
- Strong communication skills across phone, email, live chat, video and in-person channels.
- Experience working to targets in a customer-facing, conversion-driven environment.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Confident and engaging presenter with the ability to build effective professional relationships with students and other stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel.
- Excellent written communication skills.
Desirable
- Experience in higher education, admissions or student recruitment.
- Experience using CRM systems and managing multi-channel pipelines.
- Experience in consultative selling or advisory roles.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
