We are seeking a skilled and motivated Scaffold Design Engineer to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing scaffold design drawings, providing scaffolding and temporary works design schemes through quality technical drawings using required programmes.
Location: Hitchin
Key Responsibilities:
- Design scaffolding structures in accordance with industry standards and regulations
- Produce detailed drawings, calculations, and design documentation
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and internal teams to develop practical solutions
- Conduct site visits when required to assess project needs and constraints
- Ensure all designs comply with health and safety regulations
- Provide technical support to project and operations teams
- Review and approve design changes during project lifecycle
Requirements:
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field
- Proven experience in scaffold design or temporary works engineering
- Strong understanding of relevant standards (e.g. TG20, SG4, Eurocodes)
- Proficiency in design software and AutoCAD (or similar)
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. ICE or IStructE)
- Experience with advanced design tools or structural analysis software
- Knowledge of temporary works coordination
