This position is located in the Office of Inspector General, Office of Audits (OA) conducting independent, objective audits, reviews, and other examinations of NASA and NASA contractor programs and projects to improve NASA operations. The OA provides a broad range of professional audit and advisory services, performs focused reviews of specific management issues, comments on NASA policies, and is responsible for oversight of NASA audits performed under contract or by other Federal agencies.

Duties

  • Conducts evaluations of ongoing NASA functions to ensure the organization meets its stated goals and identifies areas where operational efficiency can be enhanced.
  • Conducts research, planning and assessments of NASA's program, products and services within specified areas of responsibility.
  • Prepares detailed audit reports, policy analysis and performance evaluation reports, providing findings, guidance, and recommendations to a wide range of audiences.
  • Recommends actions necessary to maintain or improve program/project/organizational efficiency and productivity that result in changes or improvements in organization, staffing, work methods, and procedures.
  • Presents findings and recommendations on complex issues or problems impacting major programs.

Requirements

  • This position is open to U.S. citizens, nationals or those who owe allegiance to the U.S.
  • This position may require a one-year probationary/trial period.
  • If selected, the requirement to serve such period will be determined by Title 5 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Part 11.
  • You must meet qualifications requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Position subject to pre-employment background security investigation.
