NAS Recruitment have current vacancies for HGV 1 drivers for our client in Grangemouth, with immediate starts available. These are ongoing positions and can lead to permanent employment for suitable candidates after a satisfactory qualifying period.
The client is a major, international energy logistics, waste management and industrial cleaning specialist. They currently require Non-ADR Class 1 Tanker drivers to bolster their operation in Scotland. It involves a variety of work in various locations, such as local collections and deliveries, ferrying over to islands visiting remote sites, transporting water, sewage, wastage or chemicals (if ADR certified).
The driver’s core responsibility is to drive the vehicle; all other work is carried out by Operatives on sites or Driver’s Mate. However, willingness to assist with other duties when the need arises is appreciated.
The assignment is a Full-Time 12-week Temporary-to-Permanent, Day Shift arrangement working Monday to Friday. Start times are generally around 07:30, but a degree of flexibility is required to suit the needs of the business.
Successful drivers will be subject to additional benefits once they become permanent employees, such as a generous Annual Leave package, a bonus scheme, etc. The rate of pay is £16.00 per hour, raising to £18.00 overtime rate, if working more than 8 hours in a day.
Suitable candidates must have:
- A valid licence with C+E entitlement, with a minimum of 12 months experience and no more than 6 penalty points (for insurance purposes).
- A valid Driver CPC and digital tachograph card.
- A strong understanding of current Drivers Hours and WTD legislation.
- The ability to drive in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to health and safety procedures at all times.
