About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Delivery Manager to lead and scale delivery across our engineering organisation as we continue to build and evolve our AI communications platform. This is a leadership role, working directly under the CTO, with responsibility for ensuring that complex, cross-functional engineering initiatives are delivered predictably, efficiently, and to a high standard. You will own delivery at an organisational level — setting direction, improving execution, and supporting engineering leaders to ship consistently across Backend, Frontend, Telephony, DevOps, and AI/ML teams. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong technical understanding with calm, decisive leadership in fast-moving environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivery Leadership
- Own end-to-end delivery across multiple engineering teams and workstreams.
- Partner closely with the CTO to plan, prioritise, and execute strategic initiatives.
- Ensure projects, milestones, and releases are delivered on time and to scope.
- Proactively identify delivery risks and lead mitigation efforts across teams.
- Oversee dependencies between frontend, backend, voice, infrastructure, and AI/ML systems.
- Ensure alignment between technical architecture decisions and delivery timelines.
- Coordinate testing, staging, and production releases with Engineering, QA, and DevOps.
- Support planning and execution of infrastructure, telephony, and AI deployments.
- Own and continuously improve delivery frameworks (Agile, Scrum, Kanban, hybrid).
- Drive consistency in sprint planning, backlog management, and delivery reporting.
- Improve delivery visibility, forecasting, and accountability across teams.
- Help scale engineering operations as the platform, teams, and complexity grow.
- Act as a senior interface between engineering, product, and leadership.
- Translate business and technical strategy into clear, executable delivery plans.
- Provide regular, high-quality updates on progress, risks, and delivery health.
- Support engineering managers and tech leads with structure, clarity, and unblockers.
What We’re Looking For
- 6+ years experience in delivery, project, or programme management within software engineering.
- Proven experience leading delivery across multiple cross-functional engineering teams.
- Strong understanding of modern software platforms, APIs, cloud infrastructure, and CI/CD.
- Experience operating at a leadership level, not just task execution.
- Confident working with senior technical stakeholders, including CTO-level leadership.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and decision-making skills.
- Comfortable managing ambiguity, complexity, and fast-moving priorities.
Nice to Have
- Experience delivering AI-driven or data-heavy products.
- Familiarity with telephony, real-time communications, or voice platforms.
- Technical background in software engineering or systems architecture.
- Experience scaling delivery in startup or high-growth environments.
- Experience mentoring or managing other delivery/project managers.
Why Join Us
- Senior leadership role with direct influence on engineering strategy and execution.
- Work closely with the CTO on some of the company’s most critical initiatives.
- Ownership of delivery for a technically complex AI communications platform.
- Engineering-first, pragmatic culture with real autonomy.
- Flexible working and competitive £80k compensation.
- 26 days holiday plus.
