About Us
Narwhal Labs is a fast-growing tech start-up based in Bristol. We are building innovative solutions and scaling quickly, and we believe that great design is central to how we communicate, build trust and deliver clarity to our customers.
We are looking for a Junior Graphic Designer who is passionate about craft, detail and doing things properly, and who wants to grow within a team that values clarity over decoration.
The Role:
An entry-level graphic design role focused on producing high-quality visual work across brand, communication and marketing surfaces. At Narwhal Labs, design is about clarity rather than decoration. As a Junior Graphic Designer, you will craft accurate, consistent and well-considered visuals while developing your understanding of how design decisions serve broader goals, from brand identity to audience comprehension. This role suits someone early in their career who has a strong visual foundation, enjoys the craft of making things look and feel right, and wants to grow into a more strategic design thinker over time.
Responsibilities:
- Design and adapt layouts for campaigns, communications and marketing materials
- Create and prepare assets across multiple formats and channels
- Maintain visual consistency across brand outputs
- Support more senior designers on larger and more complex projects
- Contribute to the delivery of graphic design work across print, digital and brand-related surfaces
Requirements:
- 1 to 2 years of experience in a graphic design role or similar
- Strong eye for layout, typography and visual detail
- Confident working within brand guidelines and visual systems
- Able to talk through design decisions, even if still building confidence
- Receptive to feedback and able to iterate thoughtfully
- Curiosity about the why behind design choices, not just the execution
Nice to have:
- A portfolio demonstrating layout, typography and visual hierarchy skills
- Experience preparing assets for print, digital or social formats
- Interest in how graphic design supports communication and brand identity
- Familiarity with tools such as Adobe Creative Suite or Figma
