Narvar is growing! We’re looking for an experienced Staff Content Designer to take on a foundational role, establishing the content design practice at Narvar. This is a unique opportunity to build a critical function from the ground up, shaping how we use language and directly embedding the content design discipline into our design system.

As our first Staff Content Designer, you will be a strategic partner responsible for creating the systems and standards that empower our entire product organization to write clear and effective content. Rather than writing UI copy yourself, your primary focus will be on governance, tooling, and establishing a durable foundation that will scale as we grow.

Day-to-day

  • Establish the foundation: Build and own Narvar\’s content design practice by creating our official style guide, voice and tone principles, and terminology standards that will be used across all products.
  • Define IA: Partner with product designers to establish a robust and scalable information architecture for Narvar\’s products, ensuring a cohesive and intuitive user experience across the platform.
  • Shape our design system: Act as the content design lead for our design system, creating scalable content standards, guidelines, and patterns that will empower designers and developers to build better products, faster.
  • Innovate with AI tooling: Research, design, and build AI-powered tools and workflows to help designers and developers write and validate content more effectively and consistently.
  • Govern content quality: Establish a process for reviewing and improving UI content created by product designers, acting as the key editor and coach to elevate quality across all teams..
  • Champion content design: Act as the primary advocate for the practice across the company, educating and influencing stakeholders on the value of a systems-based approach to content.
  • Collaborate deeply: Work as a key strategic partner to Product Designers, PMs, and Engineers to ensure content is a core, considered component of the design process.

What we’re looking for

  • 7+ years of experience in content design, UX writing, or a similar role, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work on complex product ecosystems and design systems.
  • Proven founder: You have experience building a content design function from the ground up, including creating style guides, establishing processes, and advocating for the practice.
  • Systems thinker: You are passionate about creating scalable solutions and have deep experience contributing content standards and guidelines to a design system.
  • Exceptional editor and coach: You are a master of clear, concise writing and are skilled at editing the work of others to improve clarity and usability.
  • Forward-thinking technologist: You are passionate about the intersection of language and technology, with an interest in or experience with leveraging AI, scripting, or other tools to scale content operations.
  • Strategic partner: You can effectively connect content decisions to user needs and business goals, and you are skilled at influencing product strategy.
  • Experience with user research methodologies is a plus.
  • Proficiency with modern design and prototyping tools like Figma.
