About Narro Associates

We are seeking a Project Engineer or a more experienced Senior Project Engineer to join our growing Structures team.
The Role
A Project Engineer would be anticipated to have approximately 2 years’ of relevant experience with a proven track record of delivering smaller projects, while a Senior Project Engineer would be anticipated to have approximately 4 years' experience with a proven track record for efficiently delivering multiple projects of varying size and complexity.
The Project Engineer leads small projects and contributes to design work on larger schemes, demonstrating increasing independence, technical depth, and project management capability.
A Senior Project Engineer leads the design, analysis, and delivery of projects, ensuring safety, compliance, and efficiency. They act as the technical lead and mentor, performing complex calculations, reviewing deliverables, managing resources, and coordinating directly with Architects, clients and contractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of structural design, analysis, and modelling for projects, ensuring compliance with building codes and standards.
- Take ownership of project financial management and project administration.
- Lead on health and safety aspects and provide technical guidance.
- Mentor and guide junior and mid-level engineers to promote professional development.
- Coordinate with architects, clients, and contractors to resolve design issues and ensure buildability.
- Conduct site inspections to monitor progress and resolve technical queries or discrepancies.
- Engage in business development activities.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- The Senior PE is generally expected to have achieved or be close to achieving a professional qualification as a Chartered Member of the Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE) or Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE).
- PE should be maintaining CPD progress.
- Strong technical design ability and project leadership skills.
- Ability to solve complex engineering challenges and provide practical, compliant solutions.
- Strong leadership, organisation and communication skills for team management and client interaction.
