Narratology is an executive search firm known for placing exceptional leaders with clients from multinational employers and PLCs to long established family businesses and SMEs across the Island of Ireland. Our appointments are at C-suite, Director and Senior Manager level in Executive and General Management, Corporate Services, Commercial and more Technical or specialist skillsets specific to our clients' industries.
At Narratology, research is central to what we do and our retained, high-profile projects depend on great insights. As we grow, we seek to hire a Head of Research to join our own team who will further shape, build and lead the engine behind our search process.
As Head of Research, you'll own end-to-end research methodology providing valuable market mapping and intelligence, benchmarking and candidate profiling that defines search strategy for each project. You'll work on multiple projects at different stages of completion, so prioritising and being able to deliver to the highest standards whilst meeting deadlines is a must.
You'll be naturally inquisitive, have a real interest in people, and importantly, be results-focused, driven to ensure a successful outcome for every client on every occasion. As well as having a deep understanding of our clients' requirements, you'll also understand their industries and will play your part in guiding and delivering for them through your expertise.
Building solid working relationships with colleagues, you'll create an inclusive and effective approach that will ultimately provide a seamless project life cycle for our clients and for ourselves. We work with organisations across the UK, Ireland and much further afield on their senior appointments and our searches are equally geographically dispersed. Every client is different and every search unique: the role of the Head of Research is therefore extremely varied and no two days are ever the same.
Candidates should possess the following skills and experience:
- Significant experience in research or resourcing within an executive search, recruitment, resourcing or in-house senior talent intelligence setting.
- A track record in mapping complex markets with the ability to analyse, interpret and communicate clear, concise insights.
- A strong background in desktop research with working knowledge of the tools and methods required to effectively search online resources.
- Very organised with the ability to prioritise multiple projects at varying stages of completion and to meet deadlines whilst delivering a high standard of work.
- A solutions-focused approach, naturally curious and creative in thinking.
- Enjoys working as part of a team and on their initiative.
- Experience of managing or mentoring team members would be preferable but isn't essential.
